Cable & Wireless Panamá unifies fixed and mobile data
collection using Intec's Inter-mediatE convergent mediation
platform
Inter-mediatE consolidates two systems to a single convergent
platform to save cost, improve operational flexibility and
reduce time-to-market
London – 1 September 2004 - Intec Telecom Systems, a global
provider of operations support systems (OSS), has successfully
deployed its Inter-mediatE™ convergent mediation platform for
the collection and mediation of voice traffic for Cable &
Wireless Panamá’s fixed and mobile networks. Inter-mediatE
replaced two existing mediation platforms to collect TDMA, GSM
and SMS data from Cable & Wireless Panamá’s mobile network.
Cable & Wireless Panamá has used Inter-mediatE to collect its
fixed-line traffic since 1999, and has now consolidated all data
collection for its fixed and mobile business onto Inter-mediatE,
creating one point of collection, reducing maintenance costs and
improving flexibility as well as time-to-market for new
services.
“Successfully consolidating Cable & Wireless Panamá’s data
collection and mediation using Inter-mediatE further
demonstrates Intec’s leadership in the convergent mediation
space,” said Ian Gordon, Intec’s Regional Director for the
Caribbean and Latin America. “As telcos continue to consolidate
their data collection and mediation processes, they will need a
convergent mediation platform that will allow them to easily
rollout, manage, charge and bill for new services in order to
keep a competitive edge. Inter-mediatE is a high performance
real-time mediation platform designed to meet the needs of
convergent service delivery on networks of all types and sizes.”
Inter-mediatE is one of the world’s leading mediation solutions,
with more than 150 mobile, fixed, 3G and IP operators worldwide.
Inter-mediatE's carrier-grade performance, unmatched
reliability, and highly-configurable business rules-based
processing have made it the mediation platform of choice for
companies such as Vivo, Verizon, BellSouth, Telstra, COLT,
Eurotel and '3'.
