Intec Delivers Inter-mediatE Correlation
Manager to ITXC
ATLANTA & LONDON--March 4, 2004--
* ITXC streamlines processing of international VoIP traffic with
latest module
* Realizes improved service capabilities and greatly enhanced
capacity
Intec Telecom Systems, provider of Operations Support Systems
(OSS) for fixed, wireless, and IP/next generation networks
announced today that its Inter-mediatE Correlation Manager has
been successfully implemented at ITXC, one of the world's
leading international Voice-over-IP carriers. The use of
Correlation Manager within Inter-mediatE is expected to allow
ITXC to nearly double its daily CDR processing by year's end.
Inherently scalable, the solution was sized for a ten-fold
growth in processing. The implementation of Correlation Manager
is an extension to ITXC's current installation of Intec's
market-leading convergent mediation product Inter-mediatE.
Inter-mediatE gathers, processes, and distributes data from any
type of network for any type of usage. The Correlation Manager
allows ITXC to accurately and quickly correlate and process the
intricate, multi-leg call detail records (CDRs) that comprise a
user event or experience.
Fred Brott, President of Intec North America said, "Our
customers have come to rely on Intec to supply the technologies
and guidance to ensure their success. At ITXC we delivered a
solution that streamlined their business, allowing them to
deliver better service, faster, with the capacity to support
enormous future growth."
Intec's Correlation Manager is commercially available as an
integrated addition to the Intec Inter-mediatE solution, a
high-performance, real-time mediation system used by more than
100 operators worldwide, ranging from US RBOCs to multi-national
3G license holders.

At last, Skype set to launch iPhone application
Skype is set to launch a mobile application for the iPhone on Tuesday, a long-awaited entry to Apple's App Store, and one for BlackBerry devices in May, Skype officials have confirmed.
Report: Skype for iPhone may launch next week
Skype may launch a version of its mobile Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and instant messaging service as early as next week, according to a report from Om Malik of GigaOM. If true, the application could prove popular with cost-conscious iPhone users who'd like to save a few bucks by routing calls over AT&T's data network. Currently, iPhone users must use third-party services like Fring to access Skype.
IETF to explore new routing technique
The IETF is forming a new working group to address scalability issues in the Internet's routing system caused by companies splitting their network traffic over multiple carriers, a practice called multihoming.
